Why Red Bridge sheep feed

Milled to order

We mill your feed for your order, so it reaches you 3–4 days after it's made. Most commercial feed is 2–6 months old by the time it's fed.

No corn. No soy. Non-GMO.

Small grains, field peas, canola and camelina carry our rations. Nothing genetically modified, ever.

Safe on copper

Sheep can be poisoned by copper. We add none to Sheep Mash, which tests at 2 ppm or less.

Good questions

Sheep Feed FAQ

Why does copper matter for sheep?
Sheep store copper in the liver and can be poisoned by levels other livestock handle fine. Sheep Mash has no added copper and a 2 ppm maximum. All Stock is also low at 4 ppm max.
Is Sheep Mash corn-free and soy-free?
Yes. It is built on barley, wheat, oats, field peas, alfalfa meal and canola meal, with no corn and no soy. Nothing in the bag is genetically modified.
How much Sheep Mash should I feed?
With good hay or pasture: starting lambs 0.25–1.0 lb, growing lambs 1.0–2.0 lb, finishing lambs 2.0–3.0 lb, breeding ewes and rams 0.5–1.0 lb, and ewes in milk 1.5–2.5 lb per head per day.
Can sheep and goats eat the same feed?
Yes, if it is All Stock. It is low in copper, so it is safe for sheep and still works for goats in a shared barn. Do not feed Goat Chow to sheep.
How do I switch my flock to a new feed?
Mix it with your current feed over 7–10 days, a little more new feed each day. Sudden changes upset the rumen.
Why does fresh-milled feed matter?
We mill your feed for your order, so it reaches you 3–4 days after it's made. Most commercial feed is 2–6 months old by the time it's fed, and vitamins and fats break down with time. The mill date is on every tag.
Where can I buy Sheep Mash?
At independent farm stores across Washington, at our own store in Kettle Falls, WA, and soon in Caldwell, Idaho. See the store finder, or call 509-738-9004 for bulk and delivery.
Do you sell bulk feed or custom sheep rations?
Yes. We mill in bags or super sacks and can build a custom ration from 1,000 lb. Use the form on this page or call 509-738-9004.
