Good livestock care starts with a strong local community.

When we established the Red Bridge Farm mill in Kettle Falls, we knew we didn’t just want to make quality feed. We wanted to serve the people who live and work here. As locals ourselves, we source ingredients from regional farmers whenever possible and hold ourselves to the same standards we expect as customers.

Opening the store was a natural extension of that commitment. Rather than making feed and sending it out of the community, we wanted to be a resource within it. By dedicating part of the mill to a retail store, we created a place to provide honest guidance from people who use this feed and make it themselves.

In-House Cold-Pressed Oil Production

Visitors can see our German-made oil presses operating in real time. We press our own virgin canola oil to use in our feed—something nearly no other mill does.

You can watch the process and ask our resident oil expert, Charles, how the equipment works.

A Building That Has Always Served Kettle Falls

Before becoming home to Red Bridge Farm Feed, this building played many roles in Kettle Falls. Here’s a brief look at its history.

Late 1800s

The building is constructed in what was then the town of Meyers Falls and begins its life as the Meyers Falls Train Depot, serving as a key stop during the expansion of rail service in the Northwest.

Early 1940s

With the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam set to flood the town of Kettle Falls, Meyers Falls and Kettle Falls merge. Meyers Falls takes on the Kettle Falls name; the depot continues serving the community.

Mid–Late 20th Century

Over the decades, the building housed a range of businesses, including feed stores and an army surplus store. Additions are made, but portions of the original late-1800s flooring are preserved.

Post-Vietnam Era

After returning from Vietnam, Steve Fuhrman purchases the building and converts it into a working feed mill to support local dairies. He initially produces feed for Purina before launching his own brand, Fuhrman’s Feed, and expanding to three regional stores.

Early 2000s-2018

The business is sold, and milling operations are eventually consolidated in Spokane. The Kettle Falls mill stops production in 2006 and sits largely idle for more than a decade, with limited retail use during that time.

2018-Present

Red Bridge Farm Feed purchases the property and moves its operation into the historic building. After years of rebuilding and system upgrades, the mill is fully modernized in 2024 with custom-built equipment.

Today, feed is once again milled on-site, continuing the building’s long tradition of service to Kettle Falls.
