"Support Local"

Why Buying Local Matters More Than Ever

It Starts Small

If you've lived any time on a farm, you already know something about growth.

You start with four hens... and before long you've built a bigger coop because the flock somehow became twelve.

You buy a pair of goats to keep the pasture clean... and suddenly you're talking about kids, new fencing, and a larger barn.

Maybe it begins with two pigs for the freezer, and before you know it, you're planning next year's breeding schedule.

Good things have a way of growing.

Local communities work much the same way.

Every decision to buy local is like planting a seed. At first, it may seem like just one bag of feed or one purchase. But those small choices multiply. They help local farms expand, family businesses hire another employee, young families put down roots, and new opportunities take shape in places we never expected.  The seed is nurtured, grows and develops into a healthy thriving tree that produces good fruit.

Just like a healthy flock grows stronger with good nutrition and care, a healthy community grows stronger when its people invest in one another.

At Red Bridge Farm Feed, every bag of feed represents something much bigger than livestock feed. It represents local families, local farms, local jobs, and a community that believes in taking care of one another.

Your Purchase Starts a Chain Reaction (in a good way!)

Many people don't realize what happens after they buy a bag of feed.

When you purchase feed from Red Bridge Farm Feed, that money doesn't disappear into a distant corporate headquarters. Instead, it begins circulating right here in our local communities.

We purchase grain from farmers throughout our region, giving them a dependable local market for their crops. Instead of hauling grain hours away to large commodity buyers, many of our growers can deliver it directly to our facility and store it in our silos. That means less time on the road, lower transportation costs, and more time spent doing what they love—farming.

We also source canola seed locally and expeller-press it right here in our mill. Rather than shipping ingredients across the country, we're creating value close to home.  And we are the ones with our eyes on the quality control!

The result is a simple but powerful cycle:

Local farmers grow the crops.

We purchase those crops and manufacture premium feed.

Our employees earn wages and support their families.

We earn a wage and support our family.

Those families shop at local businesses, eat at local restaurants, hire local contractors, and support local schools and organizations.

The dollars continue moving through the community, strengthening it with every transaction.

That's the power of buying local! And it's worth it.

Family Businesses Are Built Differently

Family-run businesses don't answer to distant investors or shareholders.

They answer to their customers, their neighbors, and their communities.

Businesses like ours are built with long days, hard work, creativity, and an unwavering belief that we can leave something better than we found it. Every improvement we make, every new product we develop, and every decision we make is driven by one simple question:

"Will this genuinely help the animals and families we serve?"

When your children live in the same community as your customers, quality matters. When your neighbors are also your customers, trust matters.

Those values are a blessing when embedded into a local community.

Success Isn't Measured in Bags Sold

Of course, we celebrate when our business grows.

But what truly excites us is hearing stories from customers whose farms are thriving.

When someone tells us their hens are laying better, their flock looks healthier, or they're finally seeing the results they've been hoping for, that's the reward!  It's very exciting!

Knowing that healthier animals are producing healthier eggs, healthier meat, and healthier food for families reminds us why we started this journey in the first place.

Every success story reminds us that we're not simply making feed.

We're helping families nourish the animals that nourish their families.

We take care of each other and that strengthens the community.

Every Purchase Means a Good Egg

Every time we pull out our wallets, we're making more than a purchase—we're making a decision about the future of our communities.

When we buy from large corporations headquartered hundreds or even thousands of miles away, much of that money leaves our community for good. But when we choose a local, family-owned business, those dollars continue working long after the sale is complete.

They help a local farmer repair a tractor. They help an employee buy groceries from the neighborhood market. They help a family-owned hardware store, restaurant, or coffee shop stay in business. They support local schools through taxes, youth sports through sponsorships, and community organizations through donations and volunteerism.

The connections run deep.

One purchase doesn't seem like much.

But imagine if hundreds—or even thousands—of families made that same choice. Together, those small decisions create stronger local businesses, healthier farms, more local jobs, and communities that are more resilient for generations to come.

Like throwing a rock in a pond, the ripple effect travels all the way out.
